The
idea that was to become MarineWorks began in Gdansk, Poland towards
the end of 1993. "The Team" was attending a CEPT meeting,
on behalf of their various countries and organizations, to work
on equipment standards and training syllabii. There was much
discussion of the changes in the industry and their direct effect
on those who had the courage and inspiration to precipitate such
change.One thing was clear:if the world was to continue to benefit
from the expertise and experience collected by this group of
experts, a new vehicle had to be found to make that expertise
available on a continuing basis.
