MarineWorks
operates as a loosely-bound team, held together by our commitment to
the company,
using e-mail and the internet to work in a way that has only become possible in the last few years.
Many
management gurus today believe that this way of working represents
the future for successful, agile and cost-efficient organizations. Thus
MarineWorks has only one full
time employee - its Managing Director/CEO.
Two
other technical experts work part-time as Directors while maintaining
central roles in their national administrations - with the full knowledge
of those administrations.Working in this loose but carefully structured
way allows the company to benefit by employing administrative and technical
experts from all parts of the world. The
core group - those who
had the original concept for the company and have worked to set it up - consists
of three
individuals with interlocking skills who have spent many years working as a
team in all parts
of the world. After first meeting and working together at IMO Headquarters
during the
re-writing of SOLAS Chapter IV (the GMDSS) and the International Search and
Rescue (SAR) Convention in the late 1970's, they worked with IMO to lecture at Seminars
and
Conferences, providing operational consultancy and implementation advice to
administrations
all over the world.
In
addition, MarineWorks operates like any other large consultancy by
using a large network
of specialists and experts as Associates to provide their unique experience
on short term
contract to meet the specific demands of clients.
In
this way, MarineWorks provides its clients with access to many of the
most knowledgeable
and influential experts in the field today. |
